There are certain undeniable truths about the way men think and what triggers the warrior in them that will define men forever; it makes them who they are. Their little quirks are not all they are about, but they are a big part of the total package that makes up a man.

One of these truths is their love of the chase. Another is how they are helplessly enslaved to their competitive nature. Instinctually men are drawn to anything that challenges them. They find the challenge even more irresistible when it is a matter of trying to capture something that is elusive. They will go to great lengths to get whatever it is they are going after. Once they get it, they may or may not, want to keep it, but getting it was definitely the best part of it.

Men are also instinctually wired to meet a challenge or compete for anything that is esteemed or desired by other men. Especially, when it comes down to a woman. Many men’s ideas about beauty come from what they see other men wanting and finding attractive. There are those men who have their own idea of what beauty is and have no problem going after a woman who possess it. But they will somehow forever be attracted to a woman who they see the majority of men going after. It makes no difference if the woman is not their usual type or not. If other men are falling all over themselves to get at her, they will, at the very least be very interested in getting her attention.

This baffles women because we see men going all out to get a date with a woman who is so obviously trying very hard to get attention from men, to the point of looking ridiculous. These women don’t mind that they look like a lot of other women because they have eliminated all remnants of their individuality. All they care about is how men flock to them in droves trying to beat each other out of getting to be with her.

But there is one way that a man’s competitiveness works for us. When we are feeling a little bit unappreciated or are in need of some extra attention, and the only guy we want it from, happens to be our guy, there is one thing that works every time. All it takes is some attention from another man to be directed our way, and our guy’s radar goes off like a bomb is about to drop.
It’s not like we have to actually go out and be unfaithful or anything. Actually, being unfaithful will accomplish the complete opposite of what we want. But it never hurts to throw a blink of a long eye lash in the direction of another man, or to laugh hysterically at an insanely stupid joke told by another man. These things will drive your man wild with jealousy. But not too over the edge jealous that it will cause a problem. And if it did, your man has an insecurity issue that needs to be addressed. But otherwise, give your man what he really wants; a little run for his money. It will make him feel like he won you all over again, and it will make him realize what a great catch you were in the first place.
